Dr. Sourav Sinha

Previously the Medical Director of Sankara Nethrala, Kolkata Dr. Sourav Sinha is an extremely knowledgeable, Senior Ophthalmologist with a great surgical skill in the field of Retina. Dr Sinha is very humble and down to earth by nature. Dr Sinha after leaving Sankara Nethralaya, started his practice in Vitreo-Retina services at B B Eye Foundation, Kolkata. Currently, he is Director – B B Eye Foundation VIP & Netralayam Eye Care Centre Pvt. Ltd.

After completing his Masters of Surgery (Ophthalmology) from Karnataka University, Dr. Sinha did fellowship in Vitreo Retina at the prestigious Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai where he was trained under the great teachers of Ophthalmology like Dr. Tarun Sharma and Dr.Lingam Gopal, who have trained some of the biggest names in Ophthalmology today, Dr. Sinha judged the Best Outgoing Fellow of his time.

During his decade long association with Sankara Nethralaya, Dr. Sinha has always taken a keen interest in passing on his knowledge to others and has personally trained many fellows in vitreoretinal surgery (both from India and abroad). He has also been Project guide to to the fellows and Students in Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai. He has always been academic and is also a major contributor to various national and international journals. He has many published articles in the field of Retina and is a regular presenter at the national and international conferences.

Dr. Sinha is expertise in Complex diabetic cases and all types of retinal detachment cases. He has performed more than 10000 complicated surgeries and is one of the top retinal surgeons in the country in administering intravitreal injections.
